Now, thanks to a new use for an approved drug, dynamic lines can be dramatically softened. The procedure known as cosmetic denervation uses Botox ® injections to improve the appearance of forehead worry lines and frown lines, eye laugh lines and crow’s feet or other dynamic wrinkles.
Botox ® blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox ® relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. The contraction of the muscle is the culprit causing the wrinkles. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.
Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Restylane, and Perlane
These are Hyralonic Acid (HA) based dermal fillers.
As we age, our skin changes. Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and lines forms. Hyalronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin and works to trap water and maintain the intracellular space within the dermis. It restores your skin 's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds.
What to expect during treatment:
There is minimal recovery or downtime since the treatment is non-surgical. Your healthcare professional may use a topical or injectable anesthetic to numb the treatment area. After injecting the ha filler under the skin to augment, or fill, wrinkles and folds. Following the injection, your healthcare professional may gently massage the treated areas. The procedure is quick and easy.
After treatment: Some temporary injection –related reactions may occur, such as, redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps. These usually clear up on their own in 7-10 days.
Seeing results: You should see immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Results may vary and correction is temporary. If your healthcare injector determines that you would need for example; approximately 2 syringes of filler, but you opt for just one syringe. Then you should expect softening of the line or wrinkle, and not full correction.
Skinsation is an advanced injection center and also uses a new injection technique called "volume replacement'. Your injector may choose to use this technique, as this gives the patient a more natural look.
JUVEDERM ULTRA OR ULTRA PLUS XC:
Juvederm is a "next generation filler". The new Juvederm XC formulation has a numbing agent in the product for enhanced patient comfort. Juvederm XC provides a smooth and natural looking results, and a more comfortable experience. Juvederm XC is the only "ha" filler that is FDA approved to last up to one year. Supplemental injections may be needed to maintain results.
RESTYLANE & PERLANE:
Restylane was approved by the fda for wrinkle correction in 2003. It is used to replenish dermal volume loss, enhance lips or plump acne scars. The amount of Restylane or Perlane used during your treatment depends on the desired correction.
RADIESSE:
Radiesse is made from a synthetic substance containing microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite. No skin testing is necessary. Radiesse is used for soft tissue augmentaion, or to treat wrinkles and folds. It lasts on average for one to one and a half years. Local or injectable anesthetic may be used prior to the injection of radiesse. When it is injected into the deep dermis it forms a matrix so that the body's own tissue can grow and add volume.
